Cultural Centre- This central exhibition space for photography and video art has been home to the Centre National de la Photographie since 2005. It's an historic site, a former real tennis court, not that that distracts from the retrospectives and one-man shows (Cindy Sherman, Martin Parr). Some exhibitions travel over from museums such as MoMA in New York; international video and digital artists are shown downstairs in the video-art and cinema suite. The bookshop is irresistibly authoritative. There's a twin site at the Ho^tel de Sully in the Bastille (62 rue Saint-Antoine, tel: 01 42 74 47 75).
